Sharing is caring

I am always humbled, and slightly embarrassed when someone compliments me or thanks me for my writing.
And today I thought it would be good to explain where my thoughts and perspectives come from.
It is of course based completely in the dhamma, the teachings of the Buddha. But it is also something that is very present in the many teachers that I have around me every day.
And while I have learned so much from Bhante Sujatha, Bhante Sanyatha, Bhante Samita, Bhante Sumana, and Vimala Bhikkhuni, I have also learned so much from many others. People like Pema Chodron, Ajahn Brahm, Ajahn Sumedho, Robina Courtin, Thich Nhat Hanh, Steve Hagen, and the Dalai Lama.
But perhaps my most influential teachers have actually been you, my Family, my friends, and the Sangha members.

Each of you share something very special with me every day. Even if it is only for a few moments of the day, we are connected. Your words, your actions, and even your silence are compassionate and loving teachers for me.
And the words that I write on these pages are simply the fruit that has grown from the seeds of my teachers.
All the blessings and thanks go to each of you for sharing this love with me. For I have merely been the benefactor of your wisdom and compassion. And I am truly blessed that I have the opportunity to share that with so many living beings.

Each moment we have a great opportunity to gain wisdom through observation and acceptance. Mindfully being present in this moment.
Too often I think we are all distracted by the past and the future. And how incredibly easy it is to fabricate a story to go along with these thoughts.
Today I would remind myself to be present. No stories or feelings from the past, no fantasies or expectations for the future. Simply present, right here and now in this moment.
And I thank you for being present in this moment with me. We shared this moment. And sharing is truly caring.

May you be well, happy and peaceful.
